EMBROIDERY & BEYOND
Partnering with an embroidery master house that established a first-of-its-kind foundation and non-profit school to empower women from low-income communities with a high-quality education in hand embroidery and craftsmanship (rewriting the rules of a male-dominated industry). Enabling these women maximizes their potential and enhances their lives and community through art.
HANDBAG MAKER
Family owned and operated for 40 years, one of the last and largest operating leather good factories in the heart of the Garment District, NYC.
MINDFUL LEATHER
Sourced from tanneries of the Genuine Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium in Italy, which regulates the production of full veg tan (chrome-free) and gold-rated LWG certificate leather. Vegetable tanning is a process that derives directly from nature and - in full circularity - to nature returns. The Consortium guarantees complete transparency and processes compatible with the ecosystem and not harmful to people. Using by-product leather of the food industry addresses the problem of waste disposal, as these leathers could take up to 100 years to biodegrade otherwise.
ECO COTTON TWILL
Material used for the protective dust bag is comprised of 65% Recycled Polyester and 35% Organic Cotton. The polyester comes from recycled water and soda bottles to reduce landfill waste. The organic cotton is grown without harmful pesticides, insecticides, or fertilizers, reducing chemical harm from textile production while maintaining high quality.
GENERATION STATION
The inner box materials consist of paper made of discarded leather residues and is a revolutionary example of ‘upcycling’. This paper, dubbed Remake and made in Italy, also includes 40% post-consumer recycled waste and is produced with 100% green energy.
To fine print on this paper, we’ve partnered with a local Ohio stationer who has held constant in business since 1891 and has long practiced green initiatives.
The paper used for outer packaging is FSC certified.
HOLY CURIOSITY
GUILLOZET is committed to further developing and implementing greater sustainable practices over time. “The important thing is not to stop questioning; curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when contemplating the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of the mystery every day. The important thing is not to stop questioning; never lose a holy curiosity.”
